It was a battle of the flags on British classical music's biggest night on Saturday as the Union Jacks usually brandished by the audience were joined by EU standards handed out by Brexit opponents.
The Last Night of the Proms is the climax of the BBC Proms - two months of mainly classical music at London's Royal Albert Hall.

In the end Cheap Air Force 1 , a smattering of EU flags were visible along with the usual flood of British Union Jacks, plus flags from other countries including the US, Canada Air Force 1 Sale , Germany and Japan.
The BBC's website explains that, while "the Union Flag is a favorite in the Royal Albert Hall," patriotic displays from other countries are not unusual.
SINGAPORE Air Force 1 Shoes , Nov. 8 (Xinhua) -- Singapore's Media Development Authority (MDA) said on Friday that it has banned the extra- marital dating website Ashley Madison.
The MDA said the government adopts a pragmatic and light-touch approach to regulating Internet content. However, it still blocks "a limited number of sites as a symbolic statement of the types of content which the community is opposed to."
It said the Ashley Madison website "aggressively promotes and facilitates extramarital affairs and has declared that it will specifically target Singaporeans."
"It is against the public interest to allow Ashley Madison to promote its website in flagrant disregard of our family values and public morality," it said in a statement Air Force 1 Wheat , adding that the government will "not allow Ashley Madison to operate in Singapore and have worked with the Internet Service Providers to block access to the site."
Ashley Madison is based in Canada with more than 21 million users worldwide. It goes by the slogan "Life is short. Have an affair."
A local newspaper had reported that the founder of the website intended to fly into Singapore to launch the Singapore site in the week of November 17.
In response, a Facebook page in the name of "Block Ashley Madison-Singapore," got more than 26 Air Force 1 Flyknit ,000 "likes" until now.
Singapore's Minister for Social and Family Development Chan Chun Sing also expressed his support for Singaporeans' opposition to the website.
"Promoting infidelity undermines trust and commitment between a husband and wife, which are core to marriage," he said in a Facebook post Air Force 1 Mid , adding that he is heartened by the responses of many Singaporeans who also spoke up against such website.
The website has already expanded to other Asian countries and territories such as Japan and, recently, China's Hong Kong.

MELBOURNE， July 26 (Xinhua) -- The decision by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to not ban the entire Russian team from competing at the Rio Olympics next month has been met with mixed reactions from the Australian Olympic camp.
Sam Coffa， a Melbourne-based weightlifting coach who is the most experienced member of Australia's Olympic team and vice-president of the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF)， said the IOC had left its sports with an unworkable mess.
"They have lit a fuse and then retreated into a bunker，" Coffa told News Limited on Tuesday.
"They have failed us， they have failed sport， they have failed the movement and it has absolutely taken the gloss off the Olympic Games."
The IOC announced on Monday that it would not apply blanket bans to all Russian athletes for August's Rio Olympics over widespread state-sanctioned doping， instead leaving the decision with each sport's governing body.
The decision came despite the recommendation of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) that all Russian athletes be excluded from the Games and has split the Australian Olympic camp.
John Coates， Australia's most senior Olympic official and IOC vice-president， supported the decision of the IOC executive board despite labeling Russian officials as "rotten to the core" in June.
"We did not want to penalize the athletes who are clean with a collective ban and therefore keeping them out of the Games，" Coates said on Tuesday.
Coates' position was endorsed by Australia's chef de mission Kitty Chiller who said the team's focus was now entirely on winning as many medals as possible regardless of the competition.
"All we can say to our own athletes is， in the nicest possible sense， to wipe Russia from their minds and focus on their own performance，" Chiller told News Limited.
"The decision has been made now. We need to trust the process and the criteria that have been put in place."
Walker Jared Tallent， who has been impacted more by Russian doping than any other Australian athlete， took a contrary view to Australia's most senior Olympic officials， labeling the IOC decision as "gutless".
The Melbourne-based Tallent was awarded a retrospective gold medal in June for the 50 kilometer walk at the 2012 London Olympics after the winner on the day， Russia's Sergey Kirdyapin， was stripped of the medal because of failed drug tests.
"I thought it was gutless，" Tallent said on Tuesday amidst preparations for the Rio Olympics.
"Passing the decision off on the individual sporting federations was extremely disappointing. It was a golden opportunity lost to stand up and make a stand for clean sport and the integrity of the Olympic Games."
